SINGER C5955
A computerised household sewing machine with 200 stitches, lettering, an LCD screen and a full metal frame. The extension table and 8 presser feet are included, and you can sew without the foot control.
The SINGER C5955 is designed for sewists at any level. The 200 built-in stitches cover basic, stretch and decorative stitches for fashion sewing, quilting, home decor and crafts.
The speed slider sets the maximum sewing speed, and the Start/Stop button lets you sew without the foot control. The programmable needle up/down position is especially useful for quilting and appliqué.
Main features
200 stitches and LCD screen
Stitches are shown on the front of the machine and on the stitch cards at its base. You select a stitch by entering its number.
The screen shows the stitch, its length and width and the needle position.
Speed slider and Start/Stop
The slider sets the maximum speed: higher for long seams, lower for detailed work.
The Start/Stop button lets you sew without the foot control.
Drop & Sew bobbin
- You insert the bobbin from the top, place the thread in the channel and start sewing. There is no need to pull up the bobbin thread.
- The transparent bobbin and cover let you see how much thread is left.
Lettering and stitch sequences
- The built-in lettering stitches sew words, phrases and simple monograms.
- Up to 40 characters fit into one sequence.
Programmable needle position
- The needle can stop in the up position, making it easier to remove the fabric.
- Stopping in the down position helps with pivoting, appliqué and quilting.
One-step buttonholes
- 8 buttonhole styles are sewn in one step.
Adjustable stitches
- When you select a stitch, a suitable length and width are set automatically, and you can change them if needed.
- Maximum stitch width is 7 mm, maximum stitch length is 4.5 mm, and there are 15 needle positions.
Drop feed
- With the feed teeth lowered, you can do free-motion embroidery, monogramming, darning and free-motion quilting.
Extension table
- The wide, level surface makes larger projects easier to handle.
- The table feet adjust independently so it sits level.
Space and lighting
- The space from needle to tower is 160 mm and its height is 110 mm.
- An LED light illuminates the work area.
Solid construction
- Full metal frame and a handle on top.
- Free arm and extra high presser foot lift.
