An exclusive feature of DX series sewing machines is a special needle plate design that closes the wide opening in the needle plate when sewing straight seams.

This quickly turns the machine into a straight-stitch semi-industrial sewing machine with which you can sew the finest and thickest fabrics effortlessly.

Sews any type of fabric, from the finest to thick and heavy fabrics!

No puckering of thin fabrics, even with the finest silk. No problems sewing the most difficult knitwear or thick denim and coat fabrics, no matter how many layers you need to stitch through. Need to repair a leather handbag? No problem!

When you finish sewing, simply press the button marked with the scissors symbol and the threads will be cut automatically.

 

Automatic bobbin winding!

Place the bobbin on the winder and push the lever: the machine starts winding automatically and stops by itself when the bobbin is full. No more pressing the foot pedal or releasing the handwheel to do this.

Preparing the bobbin thread is also very simple. There's no need to thread it – simply guide it along a special channel and cut it with the cutter built into the needle plate.

Direct fabric feed – industrial sewing machine technology!

To achieve beautiful stitching and perfect fabric feed, JUKI uses the direct fabric feed technology found in industrial lockstitch sewing machines. In ordinary domestic sewing machines the feed dogs move in an ellipse, whereas in DX series machines the feed dogs move at a right angle. This feed method prevents fabric puckering and slippery fabrics shifting against each other. This feed system produces perfect stitch quality on most light and thin fabrics as well as on heavy and thick ones.

 

Direct stitch selection!

The machines in this series have a very simple stitch selection menu. To select the stitch you want, simply press the buttons on the front of the machine. To make it even easier, a very clear chart on the flip-up cover lets you use all the machine's features simply and easily without even opening the manual.

 

Foot pedal with direct thread cutting function – industrial sewing machine technology!

DX series sewing machines, like sophisticated industrial sewing machines, automatically cut both the bobbin and needle threads at the end of sewing when you press the foot pedal backwards. So you no longer need to worry about the long thread end left over, which would otherwise have to be cut with scissors, wasting a lot of time you could spend on other work. In addition, with automatic cutting you no longer need to pull the thread and drag the fabric, which often puckers the seam.

The thread cutting function can also be performed by pressing the thread cutter button after the operation, located on the machine body next to the START&STOP button (used mainly when sewing without the foot pedal), or simply by selecting the automatic thread cutting function at the end of sewing, when the threads are cut automatically.

 

Improved fabric feed mechanism!

DX series machines have an improved fabric feed mechanism – steel feed dogs and a reinforced presser foot mounting system. The most difficult sewing tasks, such as moving from thin to thick sections when sewing denim or coat fabrics, are done simply and easily. The stitches do not bunch up or skip in thick sections.

 

16 types of buttonholes with quality equal to specialised, expensive industrial machines!

Thanks to a special, patented technology never before used in domestic sewing machines and a special sensor, DX series machines sew very high-quality buttonholes regardless of the fabric type. Now you can choose any type of buttonhole according to your fabric, change the buttonhole width and density, and choose double or even triple buttonhole stitching in a single operation.

 

A large and very convenient work surface that can be extended even further with an extension table.

The DX5 sewing machine extension table is not included as standard.

 

 

Wide presser foot pressure range and bright, economical LED work area lighting!

DX series machines have an integrated multi-step presser foot pressure adjustment system. Thanks to this system, sewing any fabric becomes simple and convenient, with no extra hassle.

You will also never again have to worry about where to get a new bulb for your sewing machine when the old one burns out, because DX series sewing machines feature new-generation LED work area lighting. These lights do not burn out and illuminate the work area extremely brightly while using practically no electricity. On these machines the lighting is placed in several locations, further improving working comfort.

Knee lifter for the presser foot – industrial sewing machine technology!

To make work even more comfortable and avoid lifting the presser foot by hand, a special lever lets you raise the presser foot by pushing it with your knee. Your hands are always free.

 

Large, convenient START&STOP button!

START&STOP buttons on other manufacturers' machines have not proved successful, as they have been too small or placed in a very inconvenient position, so you had to take your attention away from your work to press them. JUKI has thought of this too. On DX series machines the START&STOP button is large and lights up bright green when the presser foot is lowered and the machine is ready to sew, or red when the presser foot is raised (which also activates protection against accidental start-up). The START&STOP button is positioned near your thumb while you hold the fabric with your hands, so you do not need to take your eyes off your work and it is very convenient to use.

 

Automatic needle threader!

On DX series machines you no longer need to thread the needle yourself, as the automatic needle threader does it for you.

 

DX series machines can also be fitted with a thread stand for large industrial thread cones.
