The electromechanical JANOME Heavy Duty 394 sewing machine with an all-metal body and 23 operations. An affordable and reliable machine if you want to sew without worrying about breakdowns.
The original version of this model was created more than 20 years ago, and its reliable construction has not changed. The metal body gives weight and stability, and a good lubrication system ensures a long service life. The design is simpler than that of newer models.
The updated model has a needle threading mechanism, and the stitch chart is shown on a white background. The photos below with a green stitch chart background are for information only.
Features
22 stitches and a buttonhole
The machine sews 22 different stitches and a buttonhole: overlock, knit, blind hem, elastic attaching, reinforced zigzag and many decorative stitches.
Metal body
The body is cast from metal and painted, as on older machines. This makes the machine heavier and more stable when sewing.
Metal hook system
It uses proven, reliable all-metal hooks of the older generation.
Presser foot pressure adjustment
The presser foot pressure on the fabric can be set according to the fabric thickness, making it easier to get good results with different fabrics.
Ruler on the body
A centimetre and inch ruler on the machine body lets you measure without leaving the machine.
Removable free arm platform with accessory compartment
With the platform removed, hard-to-reach areas are easier to sew. The platform has a compartment for storing accessories.
Needle threader
A built-in mechanism helps you thread the needle quickly and easily.
