Description

ELNA eXcellence 680+TH – a limited-edition professional computerised sewing machine bearing the ELNA 80th anniversary logo. It performs 482 operations, with a stitch width of up to 9 mm.

This edition is sold with an additional "Bonus" gift pack containing several exclusive presser feet.

With the memory function, stitches can be combined and mirrored, so you can create your own stitches for your garments. An extension table, a knee lifter and a buttonhole foot with stabiliser are included, and when you finish sewing the machine cuts the threads itself, right at the fabric on the wrong side.

Touch controls and LCD screen

Touch controls and LCD screen

Operations and other functions are selected on the LCD touch control panel. The screen shows the number of the selected operation, the stitch length and width, and the recommended foot.

The machine performs 482 operations, including alphabets. All stitches and letters are up to 9 mm wide. All operations are shown on a flip-up panel on top of the machine.

From the centre needle position the work area extends 210 mm to the right and 120 mm to the left, which makes it easy to sew large items: curtains, bedding, wedding dresses, quilts and coats.

An extension table enlarges the work area further. It comes as standard, so there is no need to buy it separately.

The needle plate has guide lines marked in centimetres and inches to help you sew at an exact distance from the edge.

Two plates are included: one for decorative and zigzag stitches, the other for straight stitches only. As on industrial machines, the straight-stitch plate has just a round hole for the needle, so seams on thin fabrics such as silk or knits come out smooth and neat.

The needle plate is changed quickly using a patented system: press a small lever and it pops off the body. No screws need to be undone.

The foot is raised with an industrial-type lever that you nudge with your knee. Both hands stay free to hold the fabric.

Automatic functions

Automatic functions

Automatic thread cutting. Needle positioning: the machine stops the needle either up or down in the fabric, as you choose, so there is no need to turn the handwheel.

Seam locking: press the button and the machine sews a few stitches in reverse so the seam does not unravel. The speed control slider lets you set the right speed for the fabric, and the START&STOP function lets you sew without the foot control.

Many feet and accessories are included, among them a specially designed buttonhole foot with stabiliser that gives neat buttonholes whatever the type of fabric.

ELNA machines have a separate compartment for storing presser feet. Each foot has its own place in the machine body, so you never have to look for them.

The 7-segment feed dog system and 7-position presser foot pressure adjustment let you sew a very wide range of fabrics.

The bobbin winder has 5 cutters for trimming the wound thread. Newly designed bobbins with a blue cap on top are included: the thread is fed under the cap, the bobbin is placed on the winder and the thread is wound quickly. The bobbins are kept in a branded ELNA box.

Upper fabric feed

Another feature of this machine is a special upper fabric feed. When sewing very thin or very heavy fabrics it feeds them evenly, the layers do not shift, and when climbing onto several layers the stitch does not bunch up over the thick spots.
