ELNA eXtend covermax – a domestic three-needle, five-thread coverstitch machine with a feature found on industrial machines: top cover stitching.
The machine sews a straight chain stitch, wide and narrow two-needle stitches and three-needle coverstitches, all of them also with top cover. It is suitable for knitwear, decorative details and attaching elastic and binding tape.
The covermax takes up much less space than an industrial coverstitch machine, yet performs the same operations. The shaft runs on bearings rather than bushings, so the machine is quieter, has almost no vibration and lasts longer.
The STS reinforced stitch system tensions the looper thread better, so the seam is stronger and neater. The front panel shows information on how to choose stitches.
Features
Transparent presser foot
The front of the foot is clear, so you can see the work well while sewing.
Top cover system
The covermax additionally covers the seam with threads from the top, like industrial coverstitch machines. This lets you sew professional-level garments at home.
Needle threader
A built-in threading mechanism helps you thread any of the three needles quickly and easily.
Pull-out LED light
Several built-in lights illuminate the work area. If more light is needed, you can pull out an additional LED light and tilt it to where it is needed most.
Fine and heavy fabrics
A special switch (Fine Mode) lets you adapt thread tension to the fabric thickness, for example for fine stretch fabrics.
Large work area
The work area is almost as large as on industrial machines, and the removable free arm makes work even easier.
Thread cutter
When you finish sewing, you can cut all threads in one movement by lifting the fabric to the built-in cutter.
Easy looper threading
Threading is easy not only for the needles but also for the looper: the looper system swings out, so threading it is simple. Each thread path is colour-coded.
New fabric feed system
Newly designed feed dogs feed the fabric evenly in all sewing situations.
Removable free arm
When sewing sleeves or other hard-to-reach areas, the free arm can be removed – work goes more easily and quickly.
