ELNA eXtend 864Air – a domestic overlocker with air threading and a built-in needle threader. Suitable even for those who have never worked with an overlocker before.
Many people avoid overlockers because they think threading them and getting ready to sew is difficult. On this model the threads are blown through the loopers by air and the needles are threaded with a built-in mechanism, so setup does not take long.
The overlocker performs 13 operations with two, three or four threads, using one or two needles.
Features
Air threading
This threading technology was developed by BABY LOCK and for a long time was used only in its own overlockers. Now it has also been adopted in the ELNA eXtend 864Air: air carries the threads through the tube-type loopers by itself, and you can quickly thread the needles with the threading mechanism.
Built-in needle threader
This is the first ELNA overlocker in which not only the loopers but also the needles can be threaded this way. No more threading by hand or with tweezers.
8 feed dog system
The feed dogs are placed in eight positions, so the fabric is fed evenly – both stretchy knits and sturdy denim.
Built-in two-thread converter
The converter for sewing with two threads is always in the same place by the looper – no need to look for a separate part. Just lower it and the machine is ready to sew with two threads.
Three safety sensors
The overlocker will not start if the presser foot is raised, the front threading cover is open or the side cover is open.
Controls in one place
Cutting width, upper knife disengagement and switching to the fine cord (Baby Lock) overcast mode – all these controls are on the right side of the cover.
Shaft in ball bearings
Unlike many overlockers, the shaft is mounted in two ball bearings rather than bushings. This reduces torque and vibration, so the machine runs more quietly and steadily and lasts longer.
Large non-slip table
The sewing table is large and made of non-slip plastic, so the fabric does not slide off.
Trim catcher
A large trim catcher is included. It attaches easily to the machine and does not come off during sewing, so the workspace stays clean.
