ATD automatic thread delivery

Needle Automatic Thread Delivery™ (ATD) is a patented thread tension system used only in Baby Lock machines. It adjusts itself to the thickness of the fabric, so there is no need to readjust the tension when you change fabric.

ExtraordinAir® air threading

The looper is threaded by a stream of compressed air, with no tweezers needed.

Needle threading

Use the dial to select the needle you want to thread, and the threader threads it precisely. No need to struggle threading each needle by hand.

Drop Feed system

Raising the presser foot automatically lowers the feed dogs, and the foot lifts up to 5.5 mm.

This makes it easy to place the work under the foot, sew from the very beginning of the fabric and remove it easily when finished. On other machines of this type the feed dogs get in the way of removing the fabric, and turning the handwheel to lower them drives the needles into the fabric.

Accessory box with magnetic needle holder

A roomy accessory box is built into the thread stand, with a needle storage area covered by a magnetic plate on top. Needles will not get lost when you change stitch settings.

Differential feed

The differential is adjusted over a wide range with a convenient dial, so it is easy to gather or stretch the fabric.

Hands free

While sewing, you can raise the presser foot without using your hands – with a lever, as on industrial machines.

Safety systems

Built-in sensors prevent the machine from sewing when it is unsafe, for example if not all covers are properly closed. This protects the machine from starting accidentally when the foot control is pressed.

Chain braiding without fabric

When sewing without fabric, a braided chain stitch is formed. The threads do not tangle or break, and the vertical needle system protects the needles from bending and skipped stitches.

Large work area

The work area is 135 mm from the right (C3) needle to the body and 78 mm high, so larger projects are easy to sew too.

Multi-point LED lighting

The LED lights brightly illuminate the whole work area, so every detail is clearly visible while sewing.

Presser foot lever on the right

The presser foot lever is on the right side of the machine, close to hand – no need to reach behind the machine for it.

Additional looper thread tension control

Knits vary in stretch. The looper (lower) thread tension can be set according to the stretch of the fabric.
