BABY LOCK BLCS-2 Cover Stitch
Baby Lock Cover Stitch BLCS-2 is a domestic cover stitch machine for knitwear and other fabrics. Made in Japan.
Domestic cover stitch machines often skip stitches on certain fabrics, or the stitch becomes denser when crossing several layers. The BLCS-2 is designed to avoid these problems: the vertical needle system stops the needles from bending, so the seam is even and no stitches are skipped.
The looper is threaded by a stream of compressed air (Jet-Air Threading System™), so you need no tweezers or other threading aids. With optional accessories you can sew a range of seams needed for knitwear and more.
Features
Feed dogs drop when the presser foot is raised
When the presser foot is raised, the feed dogs drop automatically. This makes it easy to place the work under the foot, start sewing right at the edge of the fabric and pull the fabric out when finished.
On other machines of this type the fabric is hard to pull out because the feed dogs get in the way, and when you turn the handwheel to lower them the needles go into the fabric.
Looper threading
As on other Baby Lock machines, the looper threads itself – you just press a lever.
Braided chain without fabric
Thanks to the patented needle plate system, sewing without fabric produces a braided chain that can be used as extra decoration. The threads do not tangle or break, and the vertical needle system stops the needles from bending and skipping stitches.
Differential adjustment
The differential feed is adjusted with a convenient dial, making it easy to gather or stretch the fabric.
